Ekos Consulting Limited - Investors in People

Investing in your people could make a big difference to your business

  • Are you clear about what your organisation is trying to achieve?
  • Is this communicated throughout the organisation?
  • Do all employees know what contribution they are expected to make?
  • Are all employees given the facilities and training they need to do their jobs - and do their jobs well?
  • Is all staff development directly related to the success of the business?

If you can answer 'yes' to any or all of these questions, good for you. Your organisation may already be well on the way to becoming an Investor in People.

How does your organisation measure up to the Investors in People Standard?

'All businesses and organisations invest in their staff; Investors in People is about sustaining that investment, evaluating the benefits of training and development and developing employee commitment to the goals and objects of the organisation. These principles are robust and enduring and underpin successful enterprise everywhere.' Ruth Spellman, Chief Executive of Investors in People UK

Investors in People (IIP) is a national quality standard which sets a level of good practice for improving an organisation's performance through its people.

The Standard provides a framework for improving business performance and competitiveness, through a planned approach to setting and communicating business objectives and developing people to meet these objectives. The result, is that what people can do and are motivated to do, matches what the organisation needs them to do. The process is cyclical and should engender the culture of continuous improvement.

'The Investors in People standard helps companies and organisations to survive, compete and prosper in an increasingly competitive environment in which the only constant is change' Ruth Spellman, Chief Executive of Investors in People UK
