Kent based Ekos Consulting Limited launches a new web concept at the MAKE I.T. WORK exhibition to be held at the Ashford International Hotel on Friday 14 April.

The exhibition is being run in association with The Learning and Business Link Company and supported by The Internet Innovation Forum.

Ekos will be exhibiting alongside the likes of BT, Information Society Initiative, Information Systems Group, SB Solutions, Ibex Systems Ltd, IC IT, Kappa Lambda Squares Ltd, Pitman Training, Business Incubator and many others. The Internet Innovation Forum and The Learning and Business Link Company themselves will also have stands.

While Ekos has a strong I.T. capability, we are primarily a business consultancy - as director, Matthew Ashton has been keen to stress. 'In terms of web related services,' he says, 'our USP is that we talk business before we talk web sites. Only after identifying business goals can an appropriate Internet activity (e.g. web site) be designed to achieve success. Ekos' capability extends far beyond attractive page designs. We can handle bespoke databases, custom programming, user-updated web sites, 'secret' areas and more. Having worked with computers since they usedpaper tape we know a thing or two about the subject.

'Ekos is a Nominet member with the facility to register web addresses at a discount,' Matthew continues. 'We own and run a Kent portal web server and are looking far further afield. Hence our presence at the exhibition.'

Ekos has devised and prototyped a radically different method of web site creation. It allows non-skilled people to create an on line working web site in minutes. The technology is entirely resident on the web server and does not require the site creator to have any specialist software knowledge or skill. 'In trials,' says Matthew, 'sites have been created by complete novices.'

The software developed by Ekos side-steps all the complexities of the sort of conventional web development software currently available. 'This,' says Matthew, 'really does make I.T. work.'
